Step inside The Stapleton, a welcoming Dublin bar in the Georgian setting of Powerscourt House, South William Street. Inspired by Michael Stapleton, it nods to the craft of Georgian Dublin without feeling formal or fixed. Set across three levels, each with its own pace — The Stapleton Pub in the basement is built for pints and ease, a more traditional, settled space to linger. The Main Bar is walk-in, seven days, while The Lounge upstairs offers something slower and more considered with limited reservations.
Drinks are thoughtful, never precious — cocktails, wine, spirits, and a proper pint of Guinness alongside beers on tap including Heineken and Asahi, all done well. Original details, warm light, and an easy energy carry through the space; afternoons are relaxed, evenings build naturally with the rhythm of the city. More than a cocktail bar — a proper Dublin bar, open, unpretentious, and made for meeting, staying, and returning.

However you take your evening — a pint, a cocktail, or something in between — there’s a floor for it here.

Our Story

Interior of a cozy pub or bar with a dark wooden wall decorated with framed black-and-white and color artwork, a leather banquette seating, a small wooden table with a glass of red wine, a pint of Guinness, and a glass of ice water, illuminated by a wall-mounted light fixture.

Stapleton Pub

Tucked below The Stapleton, the Pub is a simple, easygoing space made for pints and good company. It’s low-lit, comfortable, and a bit more traditional — somewhere you can settle in without any fuss. Guinness is poured properly, with Heineken and Asahi on tap, and everything kept just as it should be. No pressure, no rush — just a good bar, a decent pint, and a place to sit into for a while. The kind of spot you drop into for one and end up staying longer.

Stapleton Bar

At the heart of The Stapleton, the Bar is where things come together — open, lively, and easy to drop into any day of the week. It’s a walk-in space, built for everything from a quick pint to a longer evening with friends. There’s a natural buzz to the room as the day moves on, with people coming and going and the place finding its rhythm. Just a good bar, done right.

Stapleton Lounge

Upstairs, The Stapleton Lounge is a little slower, a little softer — somewhere to settle in for the evening. It’s a comfortable space with a calmer feel, suited to cocktails, a glass of wine, or something stronger if that’s the mood. Service is easy and unhurried, with a focus on getting things right without making a show of it. Whether you’ve booked ahead or found your way up, it’s a place to sit back, stay a while, and let the night take its time.
